Privacy policy

This policy covers the website livingthingscounselling.com only. Information shared in counselling is handled under the professional and legal standards for social workers in Alberta, explained to you before your first session.

What this site collects

Contact details. If you use the contact form, it collects your name, email, phone number (optional), and the best time to reach you. Please don't include health information; that's discussed privately once we connect.

Analytics, only if you agree. With your permission, the site uses Google Analytics to count visits and clicks on the booking button. Analytics never runs on the pages about specific concerns (anxiety, depression, stress and burnout), and page names elsewhere never include health topics. No form details or page text are ever shared. Google's advertising personalization and signals features are turned off. If you decline, no analytics run.

Booking. The booking button takes you to Jane, a separate platform with its own privacy policy. Clinical intake and appointment details are handled in Jane, not on this website.

This site does not use advertising pixels, remarketing tags, or audience-building tools.

How it's used

  • Contact details are used only to reply to you.
  • Analytics (if allowed) help understand overall visits and whether people can find the booking button.
  • Your information is never sold, rented, or shared for marketing.

Contact form messages are stored in a secure database and emailed to the practice through Resend, an email delivery service. They're kept only as long as needed to respond and meet record-keeping obligations.

Your choices and questions

You can change your analytics choice any time using "Analytics settings" at the bottom of every page. You can also ask what information the site holds about you, or ask for it to be corrected or deleted.

Questions? Contact Jeff Russon at jeff@livingthingscounselling.com. You can also contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta at oipc.ab.ca.
